Hey there! Thanks so much for visiting my site. Let me tell you a little about myself.
Currently I am a full-time missionary wife to my husband Davin who is a volunteer pilot for Philippine Adventist Medical Aviation Services (PAMAS). We first met at Wildwood Center of Health Evangelism where we were both training to become medical missionaries. Our life has been on a constant move ever since. Needless to say, it’s been filled with tremendous blessings and adventures so far.
From an early age, I have always been extremely drawn to the sounds of piano & music. I began playing the piano when I was 6 years old and studied with several piano teachers in the Philippines. Eventually, I decided to take up Piano Performance in Adventist University of the Philippines where I had the opportunity and privilege to study under Jonathan Coo.
I also completed my graduate studies at Andrews University (Berrien Springs, Michigan) where I received a Master of Music degree in Music Education, with a specialization in Organ, studying under Kenneth Logan. I received work scholarship from Andrews and served as a music history graduate assistant under Lilianne Doukhan.
I’ve had many great performing experiences: Touring with the AUP Ambassadors (now Philippine Meistersingers) as alto and accompanist. During my stint, we won first place in the Negro Spirituals category at the World Choir Games in Xiamen, China (2004). We have also performed big classical works alongside professional orchestras and choirs. I was a finalist for NAMCYA, one of the most-recognised competitions for classical musicians in the Philippines (2002).
I taught briefly in Adventist University of the Philippines as music theory and piano instructor for the collegiate level. Several years later, I received a call to serve at Central Philippine Adventist College where I taught music history, music education and church worship classes. I also supervised the piano and organ lessons for the Music Education majors.
Ever since dedicating my life to missionary work, my musical efforts have been towards teaching piano online. I am a certified Suzuki Piano teacher and believe heavily in the natural process of teaching music to children, especially at a young age. I have also given numerous lectures on various music and worship topics. Read more about my philosophy in teaching here.
Aside from being a teacher and church organist, I am also a recording artist. My two albums are a specialised curation of Adventist music with regards to prophetic messages (Line Upon Line Prophetic Hymns, 2016) and the second coming of Jesus (Almost Home — Hymns on the Second Coming of Jesus, 2018). My other online efforts consist of creating content for an educational and religious blog called Hymns for Worship.
